College life at University of Montreal

MD
7.7 /10

My choice of university was predominantly influenced the department research output and because I wanted to work with a particular supervisor in that department

Course Curriculum :

Course syllabus is extremely rigorous and well rounded. The syllabus is updated and clearly is shaped to accomodate newer research. Also takes into consideration the background of the subject.

Exams :

IELTS: My Score 8.5, Minimum Score Required 7; GRE not required; Instead of IELTS TOEFL Score may be provided

Placement :

Most departments have 90% placement. Internships are regular and successfully turn into PPOs. On campus placement drives are offered but many students also opt for off campus interviews.

Internship :

My PhD program does not require internship.

Events :

Library has a very good collection in my subject. It gives remote access to other leading libraries in the world, across various countries. Clubs are active. Student council is also very upbeat and functional.

Fees :

For PhD it is $ 27,000 CAD but with scholarship it can go down considerably and sometimes it's fully funded.

Scholarship :

Scholarship for International Students. No separate applications required, evaluations are doing by the admission committee.

Faculty :

The faculty is very approachable and have made the virtual learning process very smooth as well.

Hostel :

No on campus accommodation is provided for graduate students. There are housing spaces for short term basis for graduate students called Zuma but are mostly occupied by undergrads.
