I was always fascinated by the thought of studying abroad. When i got a chance i could not resist myself from not taking that opportunity. The thing i like is the diverse environment. I was able to connect with students from all over the world and i could share my ideas, thoughts, experience and a study environment. trust me the feeling is amazing when you sit with a bunch of students from all over the world. Lastly, financial planning is a dream career because Finance is one of the most emerging sectors in Canada. People there hardly save money for future. So financial planners and advisors come to rescue by teaching people the importance of saving money.
Course Curriculum :
The course curriculum is very advanced. The syllabus is updated every year because of the changes in the maximum limit of saving tax free and other factors.
Exams :
There was no standardized test for applying to the college. The only requirement was an IELTS exam. I scored 7.5 bands. The minimum requirement of score is 6.5 with no less than 6 in each module.
Placement :
Due to Covid, there were no On-campus placements. Still i got details about various companies i could apply.
Events :
Centennial college has over 5 campus. I studied in Progress Campus which is the largest among all. There are more than 5 blocks in the campus. The culinary and hospitality department has a separate block. The science and engineering department has big labs. There is a gym, cafeteria, Basketball court etc.
Scholarship :
no i have not received any scholarship, But the college provides scholarship to students worth $5000. But there was a bursary fund that i received from college of $1000. I had to fill an application form for that.
Faculty :
The class size was about 30 students. It was neither too big nor too small. The faculty on the other hand was well versed and easily approachable. The students could send them any queries anytime and they would respond to their earliest. The students could meet the faculty anytime during the college hours. I remember we had Michael as one of our professors. He was one of the most outstanding faculty member of our college and he would go out of his way to make students feel comfortable. Hostel :
No, I stayed off campus. The cost of living can be somewhere around $700-900 per month.
