I choose this college because after completing my pharmacy I realized that biotechnology is my favourite subject amongst all and I want to do specialization in it. I applied in loyalist, Centennial, Seneca, and Fleming and found that among all Fleming has the best biotechnology course. It has a forensic biotechnology and internship program which will give the experience of the real world.
Course Curriculum :
I love the curriculum because it includes forensic and biotechnology subjects hands to hand and other than that we also have to include some electives.
Exams :
I took IELTS for this course and got 6.5 bands overall. You have to get 6.5 to get into this course. For this program you have to complete maths in 12 . I completed maths in my bachelor so it will be easy for me to get into this course. I also took GRE in which I scored 291 overall. If you had 6.5 in IELTS, as well as maths, then you can easily get admission.
Placement :
There are lots of biotechnology, pharmacy and hospitals are visiting our college. Average payments will be $16/hr. All most 95% placed during internship placement. Different kinds of jobs like lab technicians, food analysts, so on.
Internship :
My course includes internship and my college helps to find a perfect match for us as our faculty knows our weakness and stronger points they suggest different fields. And also prepare us for interviews.
Events :
There are lots of events like cultural festivals, different kinds of festivals celebrations in various countries, job fairs.
Fees :
Fees for international students are around $9500 per semester and internship costs around $4000 and there is international students scholarship if you score above 3.5 GPA. That is only for international students. They also have some other scholarships for local people. The money you will get on scholarship ranges from $500 to $2000.
Examination Structure :
We have a day to day assignments as well as 2 tests which are worth around 25% each. 1 test will take place in mid and the other one is in end. Some subjects also involved practical examination like forensic techniques.
Faculty :
The teaching method here is somewhat different than my country here they show us different kinds of videos and also give as practical knowledge. Most of the faculty are graduates.
Hostel :
I am living off-campus with my friends. Because it is cheaper I can live in a room on a sharing basis. On off-campus, the room will be charged you around 500 and you have to live alone. I am vegetarian so it will be easy for me to cook at home.
