What students say about Chandigarh Group of Colleges - [CGC] Jhanjeri

Likes

  • The civil engineering course is the best because you will get to learn a lot practically, and you can ask the teacher any doubt you have without hesitation.
  • There are many internship programs organized by the college, and many summer trainings also occur in companies such as Wipro, Infosys, Rados, etc. They provide internships and projects like electrical cars and many more.
  • From semester seven, students are eligible for campus placements. There are lots of companies visiting, such as Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Wipro, etc., and they offer a very great package, ranging from 20 to 30 LPA.
  • The cost of studying is very affordable as it is cheaper than that of many colleges, and it also offers good placement opportunities.
  • The study here is also good, but practical knowledge is also provided to students for a better experience of engineering and other courses such as fashion technology and many more.
  • The hostel rooms are very clean, and good facilities are provided, such as tables, chairs, beds, etc. The environment is also good, just like my home.
  • This college is the best law college in Assam, and I find that the results of the students are excellent, which drove me to take admission in this college. The teachers are very honest and friendly; they put in full efforts to guide us.

Dislike

  • The fee policy is not good. Also, the scholarship is not for general students, and job opportunities are not good. Students have to pay 10,000 for placement offers, with a minimum salary ranging from 2 LPA to 20 LPA. Financially, this college is not good for students who do not receive scholarships.
  • Hostel rooms were decent; toilets were extremely poorly maintained, and the mess had one of the worst foods. However, later we realized that food in almost all college messes is a disaster. Though toilets could be better managed even in the new hostels, toilets.
  • The downside of college is that when you first enter, you will have no interaction with seniors.

Placement Experience:

6th semester is the semester when the hustle to get placed starts and the students start getting opportunities for internship and full-time opportunities where 600+ companies visit the campus with vast placement opportunities

Remarks:

I took an entrance test at the campus and its cut-off was 70 marks+ to be scored to get Ece and 85+ for Btech Cse. The overall test was about mathematics, physics and chemistry and the level was good. I passed the test with 88 marks I got admitted to Btech Cse

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for the placement in 3rd year onwards. Many known companies have visited the college such as Microsoft, Wipro, Infosys, Bank of America, etc. The highest package offered this year was 45.5 LPA and the average package is 7.08 LPA. The college is known for its 100% placement, however, I doubt it because there is a lot of competition in campus placements. My plan is to get placed in a company with a package greater than 20 LPA and even if not satisfied I'll move abroad on a work permit after getting 2 years of work experience in my field.

Remarks:

For being eligible for the course one has to score a minimum of 75% marks in +2 with physics, chemistry, and maths. One can find the application form on the official website of the college or directly call on the phone number given on Google, and you have to pay some amount in advance for a seat reservation. There are reserved seats provided in the course but are very less. I think there is no improvement needed in the admission procedure because it's so smooth and easy for even a novice. The admission cell is worth the course fee.
