What students say about Ram Lal Anand College - [RLA]

Likes

  • The course is great, and the curriculum is wonderful. For Gods sake, its DU; it has to be great.
  • It was good to explore the world and working with new people in an all-new environment was exciting.
  • There are excellent placement and job opportunities if someone opts for courses in Computer science, Geology, Statistics, journalism, and mass communication there. This is because many companies like Wipro, Hitachi, and BPO sector companies come there.
  • College doesnt provide any scholarships, but one can get a loan from the colleges help. Additionally, the college has many annual competitions where one can win a good amount in prize money.
  • Many competitions are organized by the student union and respective departments. Campus life is great, and there are a number of cool hangout places to visit nearby.
  • The Ram Lal Anand canteen is one of the best canteens in South Campus colleges.
  • I have heard from my colleagues that the history faculty in our college is the best, and I have also experienced it.

Dislike

  • There are a bunch of loan facilities, but only for economically reserved classes because the fee is already very low, and there is no need for the common man to take a loan.
  • Not very good at extra-curricular activities, there are a few societies, but they are not very good.
  • Negative about its high fee structure and lack of hotel facilities, they do not provide any refunds or concessions for students. It is completely unacceptable.

Placement Experience:

From what I've seen, the placement cell is not exactly inactive. During the last 3 months, it actually organized 3 events, some resume-building workshops, and an internship training programme. Last year the packages offered in the Computer Science course weren't that high but they were near average. Some of the top recruiting companies for the college's course include Amazon (highly unlikely though), Wipro, Chegg and ICICI prudential life insurance. this year during the internship and placement fair, the only "big" company I saw was axis bank and I would say a fair number of third-year students got placed.

Remarks:

The eligibility for admission was quite simple this year, students had to score passing marks in their class XII exams, and how much they scored would be almost irrelevant. then they had to register for the CUET examination and select the desired university and the subjects in which they would give the exams. for my course (B.Sc hons Computer science), the required subject combination was 3 Domain subjects and 1 language. I think the criteria were almost fair however there were still some things that almost felt unfair. Everyone (including me) from PCM or PCMB backgrounds felt cheated because solving MCQs in our subjects was way more challenging than it was for Arts bg students. Rest, I won't complain regarding the reservation system, as there's no point in fretting over it.

Placement Experience:

Placement cell is working hard to bring companies on campus but due to the reputation companies are not willing to join placements internships are offered and you can apply off campus many opportunities are available

Remarks:

Eligibility - mathematics must be in class 12th either science or commerce. Application form on the cuet website. I got admission on the basis of 12th percentage but now the admission process is by the entrance and it's better now. The cutoff is really high. Kindly increase the number of seats in courses so that students can get admission with decent marks
