Comparison Notes

The Australian Graduate School of Management, situated in Kensington, offers nearly 8 types of MBA degrees/certificates while the Sydney School of Business, having two campuses in CBD and Wollongong, offers just 3 MBA degrees. Find out more on what parameters to consider when choosing between the two:

  • At Sydney Business School, if you have already completed an undergraduate degree in certain subjects like Business, Commerce, and Finance, you may be eligible for a credit that can shorten the duration of your Master's study from 1.5 years to 1 year.
  • Sydney Business School also gives students the option to do two master's courses in 2 years, so you can pursue another course alongside MBA.
  • AGSM has an option to do an MBA Extension course, in case you wish to pursue a research project or a Work Integrated Learning project.
  • Only 18 nationalities are represented at AGSM, whereas 44 are represented at Sydney Business School.
  • Though Sydney Business School provides more scholarships for international students, AGSM awards more scholarships overall.
  • AGSM provides on-campus accommodation and Sydney Business School provides on-campus accommodation only at the Wollongong campus.

The University of New South Wales’ AGSM would be preferred if you already have a lot of experience in business and are looking for a deeper study experience, while Sydney Business School of the University of Wollongong would be preferred if you are comparatively new in the field and want to earn the MBA title as quickly as possible.
