The Best Time of My Life at University of Amsterdam

AT
7.3 /10

I did an internship in Germany during my bachelor studies. I liked the lifestyle in Europe, the scientific vigor of the UvA, and the group that I joined is world-famous for molecular simulations. It was an overall perfect fit for my personal and professional requirements.

Course Curriculum :

The course curriculum was very structured it was presented in a very nice manner. the environment for academia was also very very fruitful they were collaborations between different groups within and outside the university.

Exams :

No standardized tests. I applied for Ph.D. positions, and had a lot of interviews with the professor and he selected me.

Placement :

Post-study research opportunities depended a lot on the department that students are taking. In my case, there were ample opportunities after I finished my Ph.D.

Internship :

No, I didn't get an internship.

Events :

campus Life was also very good and there were a lot of clubs and societies which allows everyone to take part in their activities also the sports center was very big they were all kinds of sports events organized every now and then every Friday there will be a party and a borrel, where everyone will come and have some fun.

Fees :

There is no tuition fee.

Scholarship :

No, I didn't receive any scholarship.

Faculty :

The faculty-to-staff ratios are very good something like 10 to 1. The faculty and staff were highly professional as well as went abroad for their studies. The faculty was always approachable they were always ready to help us with all our problems and doubts. My doctoral supervisor was professor Bernd Ensing. He had a huge impact on my career growth and on my interest in critical thinking on my performance. I was very happy with the guidance.

Hostel :

University provided help in finding out accommodations sometimes they give you accommodations from their side and their partners. There was always the possibility to share an apartment they were very few people who were actually sharing a room. The average rental price in the city center was around $700 for a room whereas in the outskirts of the city you can find a room for something like 500 euros.
