The university panel suggested Panjab University-affiliated colleges to take further decisions on this. Further, students who have not qualified or those who have not taken the entrance exam will be allowed to apply for admissions.

As per the panel suggestions, the university has approved in anticipation of the approval of the syndicate. Panjab University Admission 2021 for MCom (BE), MCom (Entrepreneurship and family business), MSc courses for this current academic year, will be done based on merit if any seats are vacant.

The University panel also stated that affiliated colleges must ensure widespread public awareness of vacant seats in these courses by issuing a notification or an advertisement, and that a copy of the notification or advertisement must be sent to the PU's office of dean college development council by October 21.

On the other hand, the panel has recommended that the admission process for the ME/MTech programmes or other courses at NITTTR, Chandigarh, should be done based on the valid scores in GATE or PUCET (PG). However, if the seats remain vacant post this process, admissions will be conducted based on the BE/BTech scores.

Furthermore, the panel has strictly warned that no requests regarding the admissions based on merit without OCET/CET score will be entertained for the academic year 2022-23.

In the meantime, some interested candidates have urged the Panjab University authorities to give them an opportunity to apply for MBA admissions at the University School of Open Learning (USOL) as there are many vacant seats available even after the conclusion of the entrance exams.

Further, these candidates have told the authorities that they were unable to apply for the entrance exam.
