Agra University Cancels Admission to 313 Affiliated Colleges Over Unpaid Exam Fee

New Delhi: Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University (DBRAU) has cancelled the admission to its 313 affiliated colleges of Agra and Aligarh division for the academic session 2022-23 as the colleges failed to comply with the deposit of exam fee despite repeated reminders.

Agra University Cancels Admission to 313 Affiliated Colleges Over Unpaid Exam Fee

As per DBRAU (Agra University), the colleges were directed to transfer the INR 10 crore semester examination fee collected from students for session 2022 on or before May 31, 2022. However, over 300 colleges failed to submit the fee before the given deadline.

Due to this, the Agra University affiliated colleges that "failed to comply with the notices to deposit the exam fee, despite repeated reminders" have now been banned from offering admission to courses for the academic session 2022-23.

Informing about the situation, Examination Controller, AK Yadav stated that the last date to submit the depositing examination fee for all Ambedkar University affiliated colleges was May 31, 2022. Despite various reminders, the affiliated colleges did not submit the semester fee.

Even after sending reminders to the colleges for submission of the due fee before the given deadline, the university did not receive any response. As a result, the coordinator of the examination committee of Agra University has suspended admission to 313 colleges.

Earlier, on May 28, 2022, the university issued a notice by the examination controller to principals of affiliated colleges informing them about the uncleared dues. The letter informed the colleges that admission would be “banned” if they failed to comply with the notice.

Referring to the decision of Agra University, the former union president, Gaurav Sharma said, "It is unjust to make students suffer for the malpractices of colleges”.

“Affiliation of all such colleges should be canceled and an FIR for cheating should be registered against the management of these institutes" he further added.

Public relations officer of Agra University, Pradeep Sridhar informed that For now, the results of students enrolled in these universities are on hold. The colleges have conducted their convocation ceremonies without issuing mark sheets and degree certificates to students.
