AKTU Colleges Offer BTech Computer Science in Hindi

Vice-Chancellor Vinay Kumar Pathak of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University made the official announcement regarding availability of courses in Hindi Language during the academic council meeting.

The university will now offer BTech Computer Science in Hindi in sync with the New Education Policy 2020. As per the education policy, the university’s goal is to promote the mother tongue of India so that students can understand their course curriculum with ease.

With the decision of ATKU, many other private colleges have also shown their interest in offering computer science courses to undergraduate students in the Hindi language.

Referring to the ATKU initiative, Vineet Kansal, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, AKTU, and Director of Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), Lucknow, stated that offering B.Tech courses in the Hindi language will help students coming from remote backgrounds.

Director of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), Lucknow further added that the decision of ATKU will also help students to better understand the course concepts in their own language.

Since there is the unavailability of B.Tech Computer Science course study materials in the Hindi Language, the ATKU Admission 2021 for the following course might take some time to begin.

Referring to the hurdles faced by the university, Vineet Kansal further added that once few colleges in India take a step forward in providing education in the Computer Science field in the Hindi language, many publishers will also begin printing and translating English course books in Hindi.

As per the official notice, “The New Education Policy approved by the Centre last year puts a focus on students’ mother tongue as the medium of instruction while emphasizing that no language should be imposed on anyone".

"The policy document states that since children learn and grasp non-trivial concepts more quickly in the language spoken at home, which is often the mother tongue, it should preferably be the medium of instruction" the notice further reads.
