New Delhi: Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) has officially announced to introduce two new departments- Pharmacy and Management, on its campus to provide B.Pharm and MBA courses to its students.
AKTU made this decision during the University Academic Council Meeting, held on Thursday, May 5, 2022. So far, the institute had only one research institute: Centre for Advanced Studies on the campus.
“Students would benefit a lot from these two courses. There are good job opportunities in both the Pharma and Management sector hence the university decided that its campus should have these two departments”, stated P K Mishra, the Vice-Chancellor of AKTU.
Professor Mishra has further stated that each of these two departments will be established to offer courses from this academic session of 2022-23.
In addition to the introduction of two departments and courses such as B.Pharm and MBA, Professor Mishra explained that the university is also planning to begin another new course, i.e., Post Graduate Diploma in Geo-Informatics in the Faculty of Architecture and Planning.
The Academic Council has also accepted the decision of making question banks. The question banks will be designed by appointing subject-matter experts from the higher educational institutes. There will also be proper course and branch wise committees for ensuring smooth running of the aforementioned programmes.
