AKTU to Conduct Practical Exams, Project Work Online Amidst Surge in Covid-19 Cases; Check Details Here


New Delhi: Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) is all set to conduct its practical exams and project work online mode from January 14 to 23, 2022. However, the varsity will conduct its theory exams via the offline mode. 

AKTU has decided to hold the practical exams for all odd semesters in virtual mode except the third semester of BTech and BPharm courses. 

A plethora of colleges and universities across the country are either shifting to the online mode of examinations or postponing the examination dates amidst the surge in the number of Covid-19 cases in India.

A huge number of students have been demanding the university to either postpone exams or conduct the exams in online mode considering the spread of the omicron variant of Covid-19 surfacing in other states of the country.

In the view of holding the practical exams and project work online, Anurag Tripathi, Controller of Exams, AKTU, has written a letter to all directors and principals of AKTU-affiliated colleges regarding the same. 

The letter notifies all the colleges that considering the prevailing covid-19 situation across the state, Dr Abdul Kalam Technical University has planned to hold practical exams and projects through the online mode.

It is also mentioned in the letter that the list of invigilators for the practical examination will be made available on the ERP logins and the colleges have to upload the marks at the ERP portal following the exam.

All the video recordings and documents must be kept safely for further access by the varsity, the letter read. 

On the other hand, the Integral University, Lucknow, has postponed all its ongoing end semester examinations for the rest of the courses for second-year students and onwards owing to a surge in Covid-19 cases in Uttar Pradesh. 

The university notified the revised schedule for the remaining end-semester exams will be announced soon. However, the University of Lucknow is yet to decide on the upcoming exams which are scheduled to commence at the end of this month. 

Further, the university has already postponed its January 14 exam to January 27, in view of the Makar Sankranti festival.

UP Govt Shuts Colleges till January 16

Recently, the Uttar Pradesh Government announced to shut all the colleges and universities in the state till January 16, 2022, amid the increase in the number of cases of the Covid-19 in the country. 

Following the announcement, the Uttar Pradesh Universities and their affiliated colleges will remain shut and no further physical classes will be held for students. The statement for the same was made in accordance with the government safety guidelines.

In accordance with the decision of the Uttar Pradesh Government, the University of Lucknow released an official notice on January 10, stating that taking into account the current pandemic situation, the University of Lucknow and its affiliated colleges will now resume the teaching-learning activities in online mode. 

The state universities and colleges have asked all students to follow the safety guidelines and necessary protocols to prevent the rise of cases in the state.
