AKTU to Set Up AICTE-IDEA Lab for Tech Learning Soon; Offline Semester Exams From May 25


New Delhi: The Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) has decided to set up an IDEA (Idea Development, Evaluation and Application) laboratory soon for the purpose of tech learning. 


The university has planned to adopt this initiative to give students a hi-tech and latest technology-based learning experience. The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has also approved the application made by AKTU to set up the IDEA laboratory.

Professor PK Mishra, AKTU Vice-chancellor, said that the IDEA Labs are being established in the AICTE-approved institutions to encourage students to comprehend the application of science, technology, engineering and mathematics fundamentals towards enhanced hands-on experience, learning by doing and product visualization. 

Mishra said that the students of B.Tech/ITI and polytechnic courses would be able to get round-the-clock access to the IDEA Laboratory. 

AKTU Offline Semester Exams from May 25

AKTU is all set to conduct semester examinations via offline mode from May 25 to June 15. According to the latest information, the AKTU semester examination will be held offline at 117 centres. 

Over 1.15 lakh students are expected to appear for the AKTU Offline Semester exams. The varsity has decided to appoint two observers at every exam centre to ensure smooth conduct of the exams. Appointed two observers will also ensure 100% transparency at every examination centre.

Meanwhile, the university has also fasten up the process of evaluating the answer copies of the semester examination conducted in March and April 2022. 

The reports suggest that Vice-chancellor PK Mishra, has said that over 1 lakh students are likely to appear for the semester examination in May-end and it will be ensured that strict Covid safety norms are followed at every centre. 

Since the Covid-19 pandemic hit the academic session of AKTU, things are starting to be back on track as the answer copies of previous semesters are being digitally evaluated at 80 centres. Around 200 chief examiners have also been appointed. 

In other news, the Center of Advanced Studies (CAS), AKTU has invited applications for the GATE-qualified candidates for the MTech program for the academic session 2022-23. The 1st round of counselling will be conducted on June 9 for the candidates who apply for M.Tech admissions till May 31, 2022.
