Amity University wins National Intellectual Property Award for Patents


According to the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Amity University has officially won the National Intellectual Property Award 2020 for being the top academic institution across the country for patents and commercialisation. 

The Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal was the chief guest in the CII webinar, wherein the Amity University, based in Noida, UP bagged the National Property Award 2020. It can be noted that this is the first time a private university based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh was announced as a winner. 

As per the CII statement, almost 16 awards, including four World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) awards, were conferred on the platform of the National IP Awards organized by the CII in partnership with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and the Indian Patent Office (IPO).

In the last 2 years, the Amity University has got over 200 patents, said the university officials. The Union Minister Goyal presented the award to Ashok K Chauhan, the founder-president of Amity Education Group.
