Anna University Offers 40 New Specializations for Tamil Nadu Engineering Students

New Delhi: Anna University is all set to offer 40 new-age specializations to Tamil Nadu's engineering students from July 2022. This will enable them to develop their skills and make them ready for jobs. 

To make engineering students in Tamil Nadu ready for employment with proper industry knowledge, Anna University is all set to introduce a flexible curriculum from July 2022 that will allow engineering students to specialize in one of the 40 emerging areas.

These fields of specialization include robotics, electric vehicles, modern mobility systems, clean energy technologies, data sciences, space tech, cloud computing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, internet of things and data analytics as mandatory subjects. The specialized subjects will be offered in the third and fourth semesters of the Anna University Courses from 2022-23. 

Vice-chancellor R Velraj said, "Engineering students are struggling to master broad disciplines. This move will enable them to develop their skill in one area and get jobs."

Vice-chancellor R Velraj also said, "Students can choose one emerging area within their stream to specialise. In fifth and sixth semesters, they will be allowed to study up to eight elective subjects according to their specialization."
