Anna university to Roll Out 5 New Subjects for Graduate Engineering Courses

New Delhi: Anna University is all set to roll out five new subjects/ curricula for the graduate engineering courses in its latest notification.

Earlier, Anna University conducted a thorough examination of the new specialised courses and after a long gap of 20 years, the varsity is prepared to make modifications in the graduate engineering courses.

The changes/modifications in the courses will improve the students' individual skill levels and raise their chances of finding better employment opportunities.

According to the university, the new syllabus has been launched with the following objectives:

Educating students to meet corporate/ industry demands.
Supporting students' participation in research activities.
Bringing out the hidden abilities/skills and capabilities of average-performing students.

Anna University has included five new topics in the graduate engineering courses' first three semesters.

The varsity has already begun this academic year by implementing adjustments to the syllabus. Some of the newly introduced courses are Tamil Traditions, Scientific Tamil, Industrial Growth, English Lab, and Communication Lab or Foreign Language.

The new subjects will initially be introduced to the second year students of the graduate engineering courses.

Around 18 Engineering Colleges will no Longer be Affiliated with Anna University

Almost 18 engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu are likely to lose their affiliations with Anna University for the academic year 2022–2023.

Despite being informed of these shortcomings a month earlier, it was discovered that these universities lacked the necessary infrastructure, including classrooms, labs, and qualified staff members.

Anna University has decided to grant affiliation to 207 engineering colleges depending upon the compliance reports submitted by them after they received notifications for infrastructural shortages.

Earlier, this year, in May and June, the varsity physically inspected a total of 476 engineering colleges, independent architecture colleges, and institutions offering MBA and MCA programmes —almost two years after it was last done.

After the inspection, the university sent notices to 225 engineering and autonomous colleges that had more than a 50% faculty and infrastructure shortage, the latest reports said.
