ASTU PhD Admission 2022; Apply till March 25


New Delhi: ASTU has announced that March 25, 2022, is the last date to apply for PhD admission for the session 2021-22. Candidates can apply for admission at Assam Science and Technology University in the following disciplines - 

  • Civil Engineering
  • Computer Science and Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mathematics 
  • Chemistry 
  • Physics 
  • Pharmacy
  • Business Administration
  • Electronic and Communication Engineering
  • Energy Engineering
  • Water Resources management

Candidates will be shortlisted based on a written Entrance Test namely, the Research eligibility test (RET), followed by a personal interview. Applicants who have already cleared UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF/SLET/GATE/GPAT/Teachers fellowship holder or have passed M. Phil programme is exempted from the Entrance Test. But they will have to take part in the personal interview round for selection.

The admission test will be conducted in offline mode in the university (ASTU Campus) or any of the recognized centres of the affiliated colleges. 

ASTU PhD Admission 2022: How to Apply

Candidates can follow the step by step instructions given below to complete the PhD admissions 2022

Step`1: Visit the official website (https://astu.ac.in) and click on the link for the Admissions notice

Step 2: Scroll down to the Admissions section, download the online application form, fill it in and send it to phdcell@astu.ac.in.

Step 3: The application form should be filled in the Word File template provided and should be signed and scanned.

Step 4: After form submission, pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs 2000/- via demand draft.

ASTU PhD Admission 2022: Eligibility

Before applying for admission to the PhD Program in various disciplines a candidate must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Applicants must have a minimum of 55% (fifty-five)of marks or equivalent grade in the concerned subject they are applying for PhD.
  • All PhD applicants should have a Postgraduate Degree in a subject in the Faculties of Science, Management, Technology, Engineering and Medicine/Pharmacy or other professional subjects of ASTU or from UGC/AICTE recognised university
  • Candidates from SC/ST/OBC/Differently- Abled and other categories must have a minimum of 50% or an equivalent grade. 

Students, whose final year examination results are not released yet can apply. However, they must meet the minimum marks criteria during admission. Other than this, Individuals who are in service (permanent or part-time) can apply for the PhD programs if they meet all the above-mentioned criteria. However, they will be offered admission only after they provide a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from their employer.
