BHU Offers Free Coaching to SC Students for Civil Service Exam Preparation; Details Here


New Delhi: Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is preparing to offer free coaching to Scheduled Caste (SC) students under its Dr Ambedkar Centre of Excellence (DACE). The coaching classes will be provided to 100 SC students for UPSC Civil Services Exam (UPSC CSE).

As per BHU, the university has launched a Dr Ambedkar Centre of Excellence (DACE) on campus to provide support and coaching classes to 100 students of scheduled caste categories. The university has also conducted an entrance test for free coaching on August 07, 2022. 

Informing about the centre, Controller of Examinations, S K Upadhyaya said “it is a matter of excitement and happiness that a new beginning is being made in Banaras Hindu University which is the living embodiment of Mahamana’s vision”.

“The team of the centre has worked really hard, be it conducting entrance exams, declaration of results or counseling. The hard work has paid well in terms of the timely start of the classes”, he added. 

Under the Dr Ambedkar Centre of Excellence initiative of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, BHU aims to give free coaching classes to students who are preparing to appear for the Union Public Services Commission Civil Services Exams. 

The centre will offer inclusive opportunities and free classes to 100 SC students. Out of the total seats, 33% of seats are reserved for female candidates of the SC category. The classes will cover the curriculum and preparation material based on the latest patterns of UPSC exams.

Coordinator, Dr Ambedkar Centre of Excellence, R. N Kharwar, said, “Government of India has launched the scheme and BHU has implemented the programme and is providing the necessary infrastructure, now it is up to the students how well they utilize this opportunity”.

Earlier, Dr Ambedkar Centre of Excellence (DACE) launched its centre at the Central University of Haryana. With this, CUH will offer coaching services to SC students who have applied for UPSC examinations. The centre will provide a 33% seat reservation to eligible female candidates. 

The inauguration of DACE at CUH was done in the presence of Sunita Duggal, Member of Parliament, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment at Mini Auditorium located in Academic Block-1. The event was also attended by the Registrar of the University Prof. Sunil Kuma.
