BHU Sets Own Counselling Module Under New Admission Criteria 2022, Says VC

New Delhi: BHU has introduced a new admission policy for the upcoming admission session of 2022-23. As per the guidelines, the university will have its own counselling module to select candidates for admission.

Talking about the new admission policy of Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir K. Jain informed that the university has decided to include CUET score as one of the mandatory criteria for admission to various courses.

Students applying for BHU Admission 2022 will now have to appear for the qualifying entrance exam and appear for the counselling module of the university. Based on the criteria, students will be selected per the merit score received from National Testing Agency (NTA).

With the addition of CUET which is a national-level entrance test, students from various exam boards will now have a fair chance to get admission to BHU Courses. The national level entrance test will provide the same platform for admission selection to everyone irrespective of their boards.

Informing about the reservation policy for admission 2022, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir K. Jain said, “Banaras Hindu University follows the Government of India rules for reservation for SC/ST, OBC, EWS, and Persons with Disability”.

“There are supernumerary seats which are for BHU employee wards, paid seats, ICAR seats, sports seats, and foreign nationals. Details of all kinds of reservations are there in the Undergraduate Entrance Test Information Bulletin, at bhuonline.in” he added.

BHU Vice-Chancellor stated that as of now, the university is not planning on adding any new courses to its course list. Students can apply for the course available at present only through the official university website.

Earlier, the Union Grants Commission has directed all central universities to add seats for those students who have lost their parents to the COVID-19 pandemic. Following the directions, the BHU is preparing to discuss the issue internally and take the necessary steps as required.

As of now, the BHU has started offline classes for its students over the past few weeks. Students are already allotted academic and extracurricular activities and have the opportunity to use the library, hostel, and other facilities on campus ground.

"It would be wonderful to have all the students back on campus after nearly two years. Offline teaching has altogether a different kind of impact on the students. We are all set to greet and welcome our new entrants from the forthcoming academic session" BHU Vice-Chancellor said.
