The morning starts around 8:15 am, when you get up, grab something to eat on your way to classes, The classes at IIT Delhi are in slot wise from 8 to 9:30 and after that from 10 to 11 am, and on another front mostly lab timings are scheduled from 1 pm to 5 pm. 

IIT Delhi has a diverse student community from all parts of the country, IIT Delhi offers you a lot of freedom to do anything of your own choice be it academically, sports-wise, or culturally., IIT Delhi has a great campus life. IIT Delhi has a very beautiful campus and is very good to roam around and chill with friends.

IT Delhi has a technologically advanced campus spanning 325 acres of land. University has developed two more campuses at Sonepat and Jhajjar apart from Hauz Khas which is the main campus. Hauz Kha's campus has state-of-the-art architecture, modern classrooms, labs, and libraries.

IIT Delhi Campus

IIT Delhi Schools – It has 6 six schools which includes

IIT Delhi Hostels: IIT Delhi Campus has a total of 14 hostels; 11 for boys and 3 for girls. Name of boys' hostels is Nilgiri, Karakoram, Aravali, Jwalamukhi, Satpura, Zanskar, Kumaon, Vindyachal, Shivalik, Girnar, etc., while Kailash and Himadri Hostels are for girls.

IIT Delhi Library: The institute has spent over INR 17 crores on library infrastructure, according to the NIRF report. The library houses more than 1.94 lakh books. It has over 690 scientific and technological journals on its subscription list.

IIT Delhi Social Life

The accent of student life and activities on the campus is to provide an invigorating and creative environment. A distinguishing feature is an advantage that the Management Student has in drawing upon the structure of a well-established quality institution like the IIT. It also gives a unique context of interaction with good students of another discipline besides, of course, the strength of rich infrastructure. 

IIT Delhi Rendezvous

IIT Delhi is known for its annual student initiatives and hosts a lot of programs throughout the year. Some major celebrations include:

  • Rendezvous: It is the annual Cultural fest of the Institute. originally started in 1976. It is a four-day-long event.
  • Tryst: Tryst is a technical fest organized by the student community of IIT Delhi is North India's largest science
  • Sportech: Sportech is one of the largest college sports festivals, it is eagerly anticipated by sporting communities across India. The much-anticipated festival returned after two years to celebrate togetherness and unite people.

IIT Delhi Sports

There are numerous playgrounds, a track, and fields at IIT Delhi. along with the 400m racetrack, the main playground also has a walking/running track. On-campus amenities accessible to faculty members and their families include:

  • Badminton court (in Student’s Activity Center (SAC))
  • Table tennis courts (SAC).
  • Squash courts (SAC))
  • Olympic size swimming pool (SAC)
  • Snooker table (SAC)
  • Exercise Gym (SAC). Separate rooms for ladies and gentlemen.
  • Athletic, cricket, hockey, and football sports fields
  • Basketball courts next to the Football field
  • Volleyball courts (near the tennis courts)
  • Tennis courts made of synthetic and clay (opposite Nalanda grounds)

The SAC, which is close to the Gulmohar guest house and the Nalanda grounds, is where all activities take place. On the main fields, a new sports complex is being constructed (opposite the Hospital). Keep in mind that most facilities have set hours of operation and may be reserved for team activities at particular times. You can ask for assistance with activities or with joining teams and playgroups by contacting the IIT Delhi sports officer, whose office is located in SAC.

IIT Delhi Other Facilities

  • Each hostel has its own badminton court, basketball court, table tennis room, carrom room, gym, cricket net, pool table, foosball, etc.
  • There are many recreational clubs such as drama, dance, music, PFC, Literary, Hindi Samiti, etc.
  • There are also a few tech clubs like Robotics Club, Axlr8r club (automobile club), and aeromodelling club.
  • There are various food outlets distributed throughout the campus and a few hostels also have night mess facilities where we get cheap food. We have CCD where we get subsidies.
  •  Also, IIT Delhi Students get discounts on the nearby restaurant by showing their IDs.
  • Wifi is available at IIT Delhi 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • There are air conditioners in the TV rooms, mess, and reading rooms.
