Dr Chander Mohan is the Campus Director at Rayat Bahra Group of Institutes Hoshiarpur, Punjab. He has completed his M.Pharm and is a Ph.D. holder. As an experienced teacher, he has guided several students at Masters and doctorate level. He has published numerous research papers in renowned research journals. In his academic role, he is involved in making educational policies, program management and coordination, instructional material development, etc.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Academics and research domain has motivated me to become an educationist”

I take immense pride in helping students develop their careers and become job-oriented. It eventually benefits our society and the country, which is the need of the hour in today's changing environment. The ability to help flourish the student’s life has been the guiding factor for me.

What is your philosophy of leadership? 

“Success of a leader lies in giving the right motivation to a hardworking group of people”

My leadership style involves taking care of every stakeholder in the college. To lead them respectfully and listen to their opinions is essential for a genuine leader. Also, student and employee satisfaction are two variables that I consider frequently. Students must be fulfilled both academically and administratively.

How does the curriculum of your institute ensure the best practice of industry?

“Value-based and skill enhancing methodologies for an updated syllabus”

 We are a university-affiliated institution, hence follow the prescribed university guidelines. For students' benefit, we do organise separate lectures, conferences, workshops, and expert talks regularly. What do you think your responsibilities to the college and the students are?

“Providing exceptional career opportunities and a healthy education environment”

As a Campus Director, my role is to provide the ideal atmosphere of learning for students and quality services as well. We ensure that we are meeting the expectations of all our stakeholders equally. Our primary responsibility is placement. It entails ensuring that students are placed with good packages and with the best companies on campus.

Do you have any extracurricular activities to enhance the soft skills of the students?

“Student-centric social activities and special interests clubs for holistic growth” 

Yes, we do have student clubs where they can participate in and learn at various events and competitions. We have cultural events, sports events, and corporate social responsibility programs. Some initiatives motivate our students to go outside and support the less fortunate in both academic and monetary terms.

How do you guide your students to survive in the highly competitive academic scenario?

“Inspirational conversations and motivational pedagogy are at the core of our practices”

The most important thing is to inspire them continuously. This can be done in form of group discussions, peer learning and regular problem-solving sessions. We regularly organise entrepreneur and motivational talks in which top education leaders give advice to our students.
