The university will intake a total of 11 students for the PhD in Computer Science and Engineering programme for the academic year 2022-23. Reservations to appropriate categories will be followed as per West Bengal Higher Educational Institutions (Reservations in Admissions) Rules, 2013.

Calcutta University PhD CSE Admission 2022: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates intending to enroll for admission to the PhD CSE programme will have to meet the requisite eligibility criteria. 

• Candidates must hold a M.E./M.Tech./B.Tech./B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering, or equivalent and MCA degree. 
• Candidates with B.Tech./B.E. Are also eligible to apply for the program as per provisions laid down in Section 6.4 of the Ph.D. regulations. The same criteria would also be applicable for MCA students.
• The final semester/year students for the above qualifying courses may also apply. However, such candidates, if selected, must complete their qualifying degree before the date of enrolment.

• Candidate's selection to the PhD programme will be based on their performance in the written test followed by an interview. 
• All the applicants except those who have already passed UGC/CSIR (JRF) examinations including NET/ SET/ SLET /GATE/ Teacher Fellowship or equivalent examinations or completed the M.Tech./M.E. degree in Computer Science and Engineering or equivalent exams will have to appear in the written examination. 
• However, they will have to apply within the due date and appear in the interview.

Step 2: Register yourself after filling the required details, such as Mobile number, Email Id etc.

Step 3: Now, login with your registration credentials and fill all details in the Application form.

Step 4: Pay the application fee and submit the Application form at https://www.onlinesbi.com/sbicollect.

Step 5: Applicants must also take a print out of the form for all future needs.

Calcutta University PhD CSE Admission 2022: Written Test & Interview Syllabus 

The questions for the admission test and interview will be based on topics of 

the following areas: Discrete Mathematics, Operating Systems, Data Structures, Algorithms, Computer Networks, Database Management Systems, Programming Languages (C, C++, Java), Computer Architecture. 

However, the interview will be primarily based on the research emphasis of the candidate. The interview will be based on basic knowledge of computing as well as on the research emphasis of the candidate.
