Calcutta University Waives UG, PG Fee for Academic Year 2021-22


Considering the financial constraints of families facing in wake of COVID-19 pandemic, Calcutta University has waived tuition fees of all the postgraduate and two institute-run undergraduate courses. 

University of Calcutta issued an official notification stating that the final year students will not be required to pay their outstanding dues in order to collect mark sheets.

Further, taking into account the current pandemic situation, the university has waived off all the fees including Admission fees, Tuition fees and Examination fees of the students (PG and University UG students) for the academic year 2021-2022 for different semesters.

Calcutta University Courses 2021 

The acting registrar, Debasis Das, who had signed the notification stated that it is not required for the students to pay fees to collect their mark sheets or grade sheets of various semester exams. The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Sonali Chakraborty Bandyopadhyay informed that the decision was taken in the interest of the students. 

She asserted, university officials wish to ensure that students or their studies don't get affected in any way owing to the pandemic. However, speaking about UG courses, she said that Calcutta University affiliated colleges are operated by their own governing bodies, and the University does not have the right to take any decisions against them. 

Currently, only two undergraduate courses including B.Tech and Home Science are being directly run by CU on its campus. She pointed out that students who have enrolled for these courses will receive fee waiver benefits.
