Calicut University To Begin Private Registration For Distance Education Courses; Check Details Here

Calicut University has decided to begin private registration for the students who are seeking admissions into the distance education courses offered by the varsity.

The step was taken when the approval for offering the courses was delayed by the UGC. Calicut University has the largest number of students around 1.5 lakhs in the state under the distance education mode.

In the view of setting up an open university by the government, CU had not applied for extending the UGC recognition of its open and distance learning (ODL) for the academic year 2020-21.

Soon, the varsity decided to resume ODL courses after the high court stayed the provisions in the Sree Narayana Guru Open University ordinance which prohibits other varsities across the state from offering distance education courses.
