CCSU Achieves A   NAAC Ranking

New Delhi: As per the latest updates, National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has awarded a 3.66 CGPA out of 4 and an A++ grade to Chaudhary Charan Singh University (CCSU), Meerut on March 10, 2023.

The grade was awarded to CCSU after the NAAC peer team visited the campus for a three-day inspection. After the inspection on March 01, 2023, the team submitted its report to the council for further evaluation. Based on the report, the university was awarded a 3.66 CGPA out of 4.

Referring to this achievement, CCSU Prof. Sangeeta Shukla said, “It’s a happy occasion for us as well as a duty. Considering that we have been intending to work for more research and innovation in many sectors that would help the students”.

Adding to the statement, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. YC Vimla shared, “Anandiben Patel, the governor of Uttar Pradesh, decided on this grade after holding multiple review meetings in 2021”. Following this accreditation from NAAC, CCSU Meerut will be able to secure its rank among the top in the country. It will also aim to offer defence courses in collaboration with the defence authorities for interested students of the university.

Talking about the upcoming initiatives, Prof. Prashant Kumar, a Spokesperson for CCSU, said, "As we have received the grades, the university is now planning to launch distance education, preparing to collaborate with foreign universities.

In addition to this, it will offer grants from the central and state governments, along with the research fellowship, which will be provided by the university to the research scholars, he added. The increase in the institution’s resources will be used for the benefit of students. When CCS initially applied for the NAAC grade in 2001, they received a B++. After this, the university applied in 2016 and received a B+. Finally, in 2022, the university received the highest grade of A++ from NAAC.

As of now, only three of the 35 state colleges are awarded A++ grades. According to the NAAC, Lucknow University came in third with a 3.55 CGPA, followed by CCSU in fourth place with a 3.78 CGPA.
