New Delhi: Chandigarh University has received accreditation by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for all of its engineering and MBA programmes, the university said in a statement, asserting that CU is now India's only university with both NAAC A+ and NBA accreditation.
The NBA accreditation attests to the Engineering and MBA programmes' high quality. This certification also provides students with an advantage in the job market, as potential employers place a higher value on degrees from NBA-accredited programmes, according to the university.
As a result of the NBA's membership in the Washington Accord, the courses of CU are on par with those offered in several western nations.
Engineering and MBA students from the university will be eligible to practise in or study in other countries that have signed the Washington Accord. This will facilitate worldwide mobility for engineering graduates and MBA professionals.
Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chancellor of CU said, "It fills me with pride to note that Chandigarh University has become the only university in the entire country to have NAAC A+ accreditation and NBA accreditation. The fact that the varsity has achieved this feat in less than ten years of its establishment highlights the efforts put in by our faculty members, students and alumni.”
He further added, "Accreditations and Rankings are a great tool to assess the standard of an educational institution. The accreditation from NBA is a badge of trust that our programmes have been assessed by the top experts in the field and found to have met premiere quality standards.”
The news comes only weeks after CU made history by being Asia's youngest university to be included in the renowned QS Asia Universities Rankings.
Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Law, Architecture, Journalism, Animation, Hotel Management, Commerce, and other fields are among the 109 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered by CU. WCRC has named it The University with the Best Placements.
