DAVV Plans to Launch 4 New UG Courses


New Delhi: Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) has planned to launch four new undergraduate courses from the upcoming academic year 2022-23. 

The four new undergraduate courses that will be rolled out at DAVV are Public administration, philosophy, geography, and history. 

The university teaching department (UTD) of School of Social Sciences, will launch these courses, which is already operating as many as six postgraduate courses, a couple of undergraduate courses, seven diploma, and certificate courses

Speaking about the launch of the new courses, Dr. Chandan Gupta, Media Spokesperson, DAVV, said that the executive council (EC) members suggested the plans to roll out the undergraduate courses, resulting in the varsity and panel to be working on preparing and structuring the course curriculum.

The four new undergraduate courses will be in accordance with the National Education Policy, NEP 2020 and will comprise the choice based credit system (CBCS) points. However, the decision of whether to be put in the common entrance test (CET) or not will be taken ahead of the entrance exam, Gupta said. 

Over a decade of operating the University Teaching Department, UTD, in the School of commerce building, the varsity's plan for a new building of the school of social sciences is materializing. 

The foundation stone was laid for the school of social sciences before the convocation ceremony. The varsity is all set to start the new academic session 2022-23 for the UTD in the new building. 

The varsity has planned to develop the new building before the start of the new academic session, which is most likely to commence from October/November onwards.
