Delhi University Collaborates with 20 Colleges to Launch Career Development Centers

New Delhi: As per the latest updates, Delhi University's School of Open Learning has formed an agreement with 20 colleges to establish Career Development Centres (CDC). The center will be established with the support of Samarth Bharat and Delhi University.

According to Delhi University, this Career Development Centers plan will make students marketable and job ready. Professor Yogesh Singh, Vice Chancellor of Delhi University, remarked that this is a step towards students' development as they enter HEIs and learn about the various kinds of talents needed.

Professor Yogesh Singh further shared that the centre will play an important role in developing a creative environment for students where they can learn different skills. The innovation and entrepreneurship in students will speed up with the help of these initiatives.

In other news, Delhi University has taken a step to provide support to students who are from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. As per the officials, the university is offering a DU Fee Waiver Program for which it has received over 1700 applications till February 02, 2023.

Informing about the program, the officials said, "So far, we've gotten about 1,700 requests for the fee waiver program. By means of this program, the institution would provide financial help to the underprivileged students with privileges of equity, access, and quality with brilliance".

Earlier, the program to offer fee waivers to students was launched by the university in November 2022 in line with the government's "Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas" motto. The program aims to offer complete fee waivers to students (except exam and hostel fees).

"Students with families earning less than Rs 4 lakh/ annum will be entitled to up to a 100% fee waiver, whereas students with families earning between Rs 4 lakh and Rs 8 lakhs can claim for a 50% waiver", the officials shared.
