Delhi University to have 6000 Unfilled Seats After the Final Round of Admission: Officials

New Delhi: In the most recent round of undergraduate admissions at Delhi University, only 3,500 seats were allotted to students, while approximately 6,000 seats remain unfilled across campuses, according to statements made by university authorities on Friday.

They reported that at Delhi University, approximately 64,000 of the total 70,000 undergraduate seats had been filled thus far. The DU Admission 2022 procedure is in its final stages. The institution has stated that the application deadline for postgraduate for the 2022-23 academic year will be December 31.

The allotment list was announced on Thursday. The contenders have till Friday to accept the allotted seat. A top official stated that all 70,000 college seats are unlikely to be filled during the current academic year.

"During the most recent round of spot admissions, the university allocated approximately 3,500 spots," "We will end the admissions process for the academic year by December 31," said Haneet Gandhi, dean of admissions at the University of Denver.

Gandhi responded, "No, this is the final round for enrollment into undergraduate programmes," when asked if any additional rounds will be notified. This means that regardless of whether all 3,500 applicants accept their seats, 2,500 college seats still remain unfilled

Registration process, preference filling, and seat allotment-cum admission are the three parts of the university's admissions procedure. This year, the university will admit students based on their performance on the Common University Entrance Test rather than their Class 12 grades.

The majority of seats in off-campus colleges are unfilled. The majority of these institutions were previously unable to fill their seats.

When asked if the delay in the commencement of admissions was the cause, the official stated that this year there have been fewer withdrawals.

"Because the enrollment process began so late, only candidates with a genuine interest in enrolling at Delhi University applied. This year there are less cancellations than in past years," she remarked.

Despite the varsity's relentless efforts to avoid this, the seats will stay.

The university admitted 20% of "additional students" under unreserved and OBC categories and 30% in the SC/ST categories to fulfill the maximum number of seats in undergraduate programmes during the first round of counselling for this academic year.
