Delhi University to Launch Two Distinct Portals

New Delhi: Delhi University is all set to launch two separate admission portals for undergraduate and postgraduate courses as the application process for both programmes is starting soon.

A senior official from DU confirmed that the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) admissions procedure is anticipated to begin on May 20, 2023.

Last year, the Common University Test (CUET) served as the admissions entrance test for undergraduate programmes at Delhi University.A total of 70 DU-affiliated Colleges took part in CUET UG 2022.

However, the university will now use CSAS (PG) 2023 to conduct postgraduate programme admissions for the first time. Students should be aware that the registration process for the CUET UG-2023 concluded on April 11, 2023.

This year, more than 200 universities have agreed to take part in the Common University Entrance Test (UG)-2023. The administration has chosen to establish a separate registration portal for CUET (UG)-2023 and CUET (PG)-2023 as an effort to simplify the Delhi University admissions process. The official stated that the university expects this year's admissions process to go well.

According to the DU official, the university is prepared to accept applications for both UG and PG programmes through CUET. As a result, two distinct portals will be introduced for admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

Last year, the university conducted UG admissions through CUET for the first time so It was expected that this year the admissions process will be smoother. Further, the DU official confidently said that the university is also prepared to undertake the first-ever PG admittance.

On April 4, 2023, around 16.85 lakh students registered for the CUET UG 2023. Almost 13.995 lakh from the 16.85 lakh applicants paid the application fee and submitted the form, which is an increase of 4.0 lakh students over the previous year.

In 2023, there is an increase of 41% in the total number of students appearing for CUET-UG.

The University of Delhi received the highest applications for the CUET Undergraduate Program in 2023, followed by Banaras Hindu University, Allahabad University, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, and Jamia Millia Islamia.

The Common University Entrance Test (UG)–2023 is all set to be held between May 21 and 31, 2023. According to the data, a total of 70,000 seats of DU were not filled last year. Despite the university's best efforts, about 7% of the available seats were empty.
