DTU Cancels Final And Intermediate Semester Exams; DU's EC Alleged NSIT & DTU

The Delhi Technological University has decided to cancel the pending DTU semester Exams 2020 for both final and intermediate semester students.

The Delhi Technological University landed on this decision, as the Delhi University Executive Council members have written a letter to Delhi's Education Minister Manish Sisodia, asserting that two Delhi Government colleges namely NSIT and DTU are conducting examinations despite cancellation announcements by the state government.

The letter written by executive members states, "Despite your announcement, NSIT and DTU are going ahead with the end semester examinations of the intermediate semester. NSIT is conducting exams in OBE mode with merely changing the nomenclature. But the substantive nature remains the same. Whereas DTU conducted an online exam of the final semester despite the problems raised by the students. We request you to look into this and take appropriate action in the light of the state government policy announcement."

The DTU examinations were to commence from July 18, 2020, however now the university has announced to cancel the examinations, along with this the varsity has announced to notify about the new assessment guidelines soon.

Earlier the Delhi Government had asked all the state government-run universities to cancel end semester examinations in wake of the pandemic. This decision is however going to impact more than 1,30,000 students.

Besides the cancellation of examination, DTU has announced that students will soon be addressed about the assessment guidelines. On the basis of this scheme the students will be promoted to the next level.
