DU Admission 2020: Plan To Increase 15% Seats In All Courses

Delhi University Academic Council will hold a meeting today, dated June 10, 2020, to discuss increasing 15% seats for EWS category in all courses.

The standing committee of Delhi University will conduct the meeting for increasing seats in the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category that was introduced in 2019.

In 2019, DU had increased the seats to 10% for this quota for enhancement to 15% by 2020-2021 academic year.

The council will be discussing to conduct a complete online admission process for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

This includes Extra-Curricular Activity (ECA), Children or Widows of Armed Forces (CW) and Sports category that require applicants to be present during trials.

As per earlier reports, tentative dates for Delhi University Admissions 2020 for UG and PG courses were scheduled between June 8-June 30, 2020 with the first cut-off list to be released by August 11-14.

The discussions will also concern whether the Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) 2020 will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The agenda suggests: “The Nodal persons for any task related to DUET 2020 will be the respective Head of the Department”.

The committee will also address its previous proposal of retaining eligibility criteria  2019-2020 for UG and PG courses academic year along with fees for online registration, admission cancellation, correction and registration for ECA and Sports category.

The discussion will also focus on admission in reserved categories and ways to reduce physical verification of documents.
