DU PG Admission 2022: University Offers 75 Percent Fee Concession to PwBD Candidates


New Delhi: Delhi University has announced the postgraduate fee structure for the class of 2022–2023 for all applicants who fall under the PwBD category. According to the recent notification, students who enrol in the DU PG programme under the PwBD category will receive a cost reduction of 75% of the total admission fee.

As per Delhi University, students can look at the cost structure on the official website to gain a general idea of the information relevant to admission. The university published a notification on August 02, 2022, outlining all the necessary details regarding the admission fee for the academic year 2022–2023.

Following the decision, the tuition fee for all postgraduate programmes will stay constant, and students must contribute INR 100 to the University Student Welfare Fund, according to the public announcement released by DU. Furthermore, INR 900 should be paid to the University Development Fund by students. 

The university facilities and service charges are INR 500 and INR 100 are to be paid against the Economically Weaker Section Support University Fund. In accordance with the DU colleges' decision, the faculty, departmental facilities, and college student welfare fund will also be charged.

Earlier, On December 9 2022, DU completed the PG admissions for the second round allotment. The DU colleges had till December 10, 2022, to confirm and approve the admission of candidates. Shortlisted candidates were required to pay the required fee against the second merit list by December 10, 2022.

Earlier, the university received objections against its decision to increase the number of students in a DU lecture by about 50% to 60% per batch. The opposition stated that this decision will impact the quality of education.

Several teacher organisations disagreed with the decision by calling the batch sizes "bigger-than-ideal." They further added that this will negatively affect the standard of the educational process at colleges and university departments.
