DU to Offer Two Admission Seats to Orphans

New Delhi: Delhi University has announced that it will reserve two admission seats to the orphans in its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. This measure will be implemented from the next academic year. 

As per the latest reports, orphan children would receive a full course cost exemption and seats will be made available in both undergraduate and graduate programmes. The DU Executive Council approved the official proposal pertaining to the admission seats on Friday, February 3, 2023. 

Additionally, DU will offer two seats each to destitute students under the supernumerary quota. Students who are awarded these two seats will not be required to pay any academic costs, including those for housing, exams, and other required fees.

Considering the circumstances, the University Welfare Fund or College Students' Welfare Fund will cover the costs of the students' entrance and continued education.

Further, the Delhi University's Executive Council held a meeting on February 3, where several new schemes were introduced. 

According to the reports, the University has decreased the weight of the semester-end consolidated DU Examinations for a theory-based test to 56%.

The university official stated that the Executive Council proposed giving orphans entrance to all undergraduate and graduate programmes offered at the university beginning with the 2024–25 academic year.

DU Admissions 2023

As per the latest notification, Delhi University admission 2023 will be done entirely based on the scores in the Common University Entrance Test CUET).

Candidates qualifying CUET exam 2023 will be able to get admission to the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered by DU. However, the university has decided that it will not conduct the DUET exam this year.
