New Delhi: Delhi University has decided to delay its UG admissions by a week. The delay came into question as the NTA jas rescheduled the CUET 2022 exam dates, as per a senior varsity.

As per a PTI Report, DU officials have stated that the admission process is 'expected to stretch longer by a week as CUET was rescheduled .' The official further added that the entire admission process is expected to take place over a month.

"The admission process is now expected to be completed by September-end and classes for first-year students to begin in the first or second week of October. Earlier, the university was planning to start the classes by September-end," the official further stated.

National Testing Agency, NTA recently rescheduled the CUET UG 2022 Exam. The Common University Entrance Exam, CUET was scheduled to conclude on August 20, 2022, but now it will conclude on August 28, 2022.

The PTI report further added that as per Dean of Admissions, Haneet Gandhi, the Common Seat Allocation System, CSAS portal for DU Admissions for UG courses will open by the third week of August so that candidates can begin to fill in their forms.

The DU Admissions 2022 will be carried out in three phases through the CSAS Portal. The first phase would be filling in the forms, and selecting the course and programme. The second phase would be the submission of the CUET 2022 Result and scores. In the third phase, the seats will be allocated to candidates through a merit list.

DU is otherwise known to conduct UG Admissions based on cut-off lists formed on the basis of the average marks scored by students in their Class 12 board exams. For the first time, DU will now be conducting its undergraduate admissions through a common entrance exam CUET 2022.
