Gauhati University released New Academic Calendar for the A.Y. 2020-21, New Academic session to begin from November 2020

The Gauhati University and its affiliated colleges will commence the new academic session from November 2020 for the First, Third, and Fifth-semester undergraduate courses as per the media reports.

The classes at Gauhati University will begin from November 1, 2020, for the undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Gauhati University New Session Schedule

As per the academic calendar released by the Gauhati University for the A.Y 2020-21 and 2021-22, the admissions are to be completed by October 31, 2020, for both Gauhati University UG and PG courses.

Apart from this, the first semester classes for PG courses will begin from November 18, 2020.

Due to the outbreak COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown, Educational institutions in Assam have been shut since March 2020. The Assam Education Minister Himanta Voswa, on October 7, 2020, disclosed that schools and colleges would reopen in the state from November 1, 2020, for physical learning.

Himanta Voswa further added that the Assam state government would release a set of Standard Operating Procedures between October 15, 2020, to October 20, 2020, to be followed while the reopening of the schools and colleges.

Unlock 5.0 Guidelines

According to the Unlock 5.0 guidelines released by the Central Government, the schools will reopen from October 15, 2020. The state governments are directed to follow the guidelines released by the government for the reopening of schools.

Since the lockdown, the schools hold classes in the online mode to keep the learning process ongoing so that the students do not suffer for the studies.
