GGSIPU to Start East Campus Soon, 600 Plus UG-PG Seats to be Added; Details Here


The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, (GGSIPU), has decided to commence the undergraduate and postgraduate courses from its newly established East Campus in Delhi. 

GGSIPU has decided to introduce B.Tech and B.Des courses from the upcoming academic session 2021-22. According to the sources, Dr PC Sharma, Director, Academic Affairs at the GGSIPU said that the university is all set to add more than 600 UG and PG seats from its east campus this year. 

He said that GGSIPU has also planned to introduce some new courses that will add as many as seats in both undergraduate and postgraduate levels like MSc in Packaging. 

Sharma further informed that the University will soon announce the entrance exam results of various courses like BBA, BCom, BJMC, following which the university will commence the counselling process for different undergraduate and postgraduate courses. 

Sharma also notified that GGSIPU will conduct the UG and PG counselling process via online mode and that the students will have to register online. 

Earlier, this month, GGSIPU postponed the Common Entrance Test (IPU CET) as the exams were clashing with the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - UG (NEET-UG 2021) that was conducted on September 12, 2021. GGSIPU conducts IPU CET for admissions to courses including BTech, BA English, and B.pharma. 

GGSIPU to Start Offline-Online Classes 

PC Sharma, Director, Academic Affairs at the GGSIPU stated that the university has been planning to opt for the hybrid model of education with online and offline classes for the courses with the maximum number of students. 

Keeping in mind the Covid-19 precautions, the university will commence the online and offline classes as per the availability of the facilities and the total number of students, he said. 

The University will permit the students on campus for the final semester practicals wherever lab work is involved and it has planned to commence online classes for the UG courses as the first-year admissions have not yet started. 

Further, Sharma said that the university is planning to permit masters level students to return to the campus. He said that for courses like MTech, students would be doing projects for which they'd be required to visit the labs.

GGSIPU Courses & Fee Structure

GGSIPU East Campus to Have 600 Plus Seats 

GGSIPU will start its new campus in Surajmal Vihar in East Delhi, by adding more than 600 UG-PG seats. Thus, the university will commence its new campus this year. 

Moreover, two new schools namely, School of Design and Innovation and School of Robotics and Automation will be started in the GGSIPU East Campus. The Robotics and Automation will consist of four courses, in areas like machine learning, data science, artificial intelligence, industrial IOT, etc, with a total of 120 seats in each course. In contrast, the School of Design and Innovation will offer B.Des courses with 120 seats. 

Admission to B.Tech courses at the GGSIPU east campus will be conducted based on JEE results; the university will soon start the counselling process for the same.

GGSIPU has planned these programs as an envision, and that to be unique both in terms of curriculum, well-integrated focus on Research and development (R&D), and entrepreneurship; state-of-the-art laboratories, hands-on training, by way of innovative participation/association with the industries and various stakeholders.

Furthermore, the entire teaching and research ecosystem of the GGSIPU east campus is being planned to be a hub of innovative ideas and products. There will be two new schools of studies namely, the University School of Automation & Robotics (USAR); the University School of Design & Innovation, (USDI) and the third the IP Innovation & Incubation Center.

The GGSIPU Admission Process for students is based on the national level tests like NEET for MBBS courses, CLAT for LLB and JEE for B.Tech. At the same, the university also conducts its own entrance exams for various courses like BBA, Bcom, BCA and BJMC. However, the university admits students based on their class 12th scores in courses like animation and others.
