GITAM University, Pfizer Jointly Launches B.Sc Chemistry Course; Details Here


New Delhi: GITAM Deemed-to-be University in association with Pfizer Healthcare has introduced an undergraduate programme in Chemistry (BSc. Chemistry Pfizer Programme). The course has been inaugurated and is set to begin later this year.

The launch event saw the presence of dignitaries from both Pfizer and GITAM to provide encouragement to students who have opted for the Pfizer Autonomous Teams (PAT) programme under the B.Sc Chemistry Course at GITAM

While discussing this collaboration, Vikram Shukla of Pfizer Healthcare has spoken about the impact of the PAT Programme and how it is the first of its kind in the Pfizer history. According to him, the programme is aiming towards developing qualified professionals in the pharmaceutical industry. 

One of the major goals of this programme is to increase the participation of women in the workspace and provide opportunities to increase their theoretical and practical knowledge, skills and employability in the Pharma operations.

Professor Jayasankar Variyar, the Pro Vice-Chancellor of GITAM, has stated that the collaborations between the professional industries and academic institutes play significant roles in nurturing strong and extremely skilled workpower. He also has explained that GITAM is planning to invest approximately 15 crore into the upgradation of the infrastructure facilities and academic reformations. 

Discussing the dire need of the collaboration between industry and academics, GITAM Registrar Professor Dr. Gunasekaran has commented that this collaboration between GITAM and Pfizer, will prove to be very important in near future. 

Professor M. Sarathchandra Babu, the Principle of GITAM Institute of Science, has promised that he along with other faculties have been working on to create industry ready academic programmes.
