GNDU PhD Admission 2023 Open; Last Date to Apply is January 12

New Delhi: Guru Nanak Dev University, GNDU Amritsar, has begun the application process for undergraduate and postgraduate level degree courses for the academic session 2023-24. Aspiring candidates can submit the online application form through the official portal, @https://online.gndu.ac.in/. 

GNDU offers PhD courses under 30 disciplines. Candidates seeking admission to the PhD programme can submit their applications till January 12, 2023. 

Admissions to Ph.D courses will be based on the merit in the Entrance Test conducted by the university. The entrance test will be conducted on January 17, 2023.

The Ph.D Eligibility Test for various subjects will be held on January 17, 2023, from 

10:30 am to 01:00 pm and the Venue of the test will be Lecture Theatre Complex, Near Chemistry Block, GNDU Campus.

GNDU PhD Admission 2023: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to the Phd courses will have to meet the requisite eligibility criteria. 

  • Candidates must hold a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA [50% marks or equivalent CGPA for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/ differently-abled candidates] of GNDU or an equivalent degree of recognized Indian or Foreign University in the subject concerned or allied-field.
  • GNDU Ph.D. Eligibility Test will be exempted from Ph.D. Eligibility Test. The UGC/ CSIR/ INSPIRE/Rajiv Gandhi Fellowship awardees or candidates who are awarded fellowships directly by these or other funding agencies for the purpose of pursuing Ph.D. can be enrolled any time during the session.

GNDU PhD Admission 2023: Selection Process

  • Candidate's selection to the PhD programme will be based on UGC/CSIR (JRF), NET/GATE, conducted at All India level. 
  • The final admission is offered on the basis of candidates’ performance in the written test followed by an interview conducted by the respective department. 

GNDU PhD Admission 2023: Eligibility Test 

The Ph.D. Eligibility Test will be conducted in all the departments/subjects to fill in seats for the Ph.D. programme. The entrance test consists of two papers:

  • (i) First paper will be compulsory and common to all candidates. It contains 25 MCQs on general awareness and mental ability, and carries 25 marks. 
  • (ii) Second paper is subject specific. There will be 50 objective type MCQs carrying 1 mark each, and 5 short answer type questions, carrying 5 marks each.

GNDU PhD Admission 2023: How to Apply?

Step 1: Visit the official application portal of GNDU @https://online.gndu.ac.in/. 

Step 2: Register yourself after filling the required details, such as Mobile number, Email Id etc.

Step 3: Now, login with your registration credentials and fill all details in the Application form.

Step 4: Pay the application fee and submit the Application form. 

Step 5: Applicants must also take a print out of the form for all future needs.
