Gujarat University Likely to Reschedule Second Semester Exams to June

New Delhi: Gujarat University has planned to postpone and reschedule its second semester examination from May 26 to June 7, 2022.

Gujarat University has decided to reschedule the second semester exams from June 1, following the representation by the Gujarat State Principals' Association.

Earlier, this week, the Gujarat association had written a letter to the vice-chancellor of the university asking him to delay the exam date by almost 10 days.

In its letter, the association had written that around 1 lakh students from Arts, Commerce, Science, and BEd, Law, and BBA, and BCA courses have registered for the second semester exams. The college administration needs more time to prepare for the exams.

The Association said that the college administration would have to prepare the seating arrangement, supervision, which consumes more time. It also mentioned the extreme summer heat, which is also another bottleneck for the smooth conduct of the semester exams.

Star Payal Iyer, General secretary of Gujarat State Principals' Association said that the office of the vice-chancellor has given a nod to the request.

Iyer said that a general resolution has been issued in this regard to the colleges directing them about the decision and that they've to prepare for the 2nd semester exams by June 7, 2022.

Further, senior supervisors and supervisors for conducting exams are required who are currently on a holiday. As a result, it has been requested to reschedule the exams so as to prepare for the seating arrangement and supervision which requires time, Iyer added.

According to the sources, Gujarat University will issue the revised schedule within the next few days for the second semester examinations.
