Gujarat University to Offer Online MCQ Exam Option


The Gujarat University this year will be offering an option of online MCQ exams to all final year students.

The Ministry of Home Affairs had earlier released a notice seeking all the educational institutes to remain closed till August 31, 2020. Following which, Gujarat University has come up will this optional way of exams which was earlier offered to only outstation students.

GU official said that the decision is taken keeping in mind the safety and interest of the students. The official said, "earlier the option of the online examination was given to the students outside Ahmedabad, which includes students from other states, country and overseas.

Gujarat University Examination Controller Kalpen Vora said that the students will be allowed to choose these options from early next week and the varsity has started working out on these details.

Earlier on August 7, Members of Youth Congress appealed GU to postpone the examinations. Looking at the concern of the students EC Vohra said, "Students who have already registered for offline exam centers will get an opportunity to go for online exams. The MCQ format will help the COVID-19 affected students."

Parthiv Raj Kathwadia of ANSUI said that the education department has not clarified anything and that is worse. Following MHA guidelines, Gujarat Government declared work from home for both teaching and non-teaching staff and Gujarat University announced exams from August 21, 2020 which again opposed by all.

Since the cases in GU are at peak, the varsity has asked all its employees to report to the campus to mandatorily download the Arogya Setu app.
