Gujarat University to release first merit list for Commerce and Allied Courses on July 25


Gujarat University has announced that it will release the first merit list for Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) and allied courses on July 25th. 

Earlier, Gujarat University missed its previous deadline to announce the merit list on July 22nd because of the sudden change in the admission committee.

Due to the delay in the release of merit list, as many as 35,000 students who applied for admissions to Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) and allied courses have to wait till tomorrow for the first merit list.

The change in the Admissions Committee was done after Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) raise ruckus alleging favouritism in admission. 

The student organisation, ABVP demanded a change in the Committee to bring transparency to the process. 

Furthermore, the student organisation also demanded that private agency managing admission-related work be changed.

As per an official of GU, the varsity will now release the first merit and seat allotment for commerce and allied courses on July 25, and students will be able to pay the fees between July 26 and July 29.
