IIM Kozhikode Awards PGP, PhD Degrees to 1166 Students at 25th Annual Convocation


IIM Kozhikode 25th Annual Convocation

New Delhi: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode conferred degrees to 1,166 graduates of its Flagship Post Graduate Program in Management (PGP) and Doctoral Program in Management (PhD) at its 25th annual convocation on April 8, 2023.

As per IIM Kozhikode, the Union Minister for External Affair, V Muraleedharan attended the convocation event as the Chief Guest and Tata Power Company Managing Director Praveer Sinha attended as the Guest of Honor.

A total of 470 students from IIMK's premier Postgraduate Program in Management (PGP), 10 students from Doctoral Program in Management (PhD), 64 students from PGP in Business Leadership, 38 students from PGP in Finance, and 51 students from PGP in Liberal Arts and Management program received their degrees at the convocation ceremony.

This year's graduating class broke new ground by dressing entirely in ethnic attire. The 1,166 students were all dressed in traditional Indian garb, with the male students wearing kurta pajamas, mundus and the female students wearing kurta pajamas or sarees.

In the convocation speech, the Chief Guest, V Muraleedharan delivered his blessings to the graduates and expressed his gratitude to the IIM Kozhikode community for producing the best leaders and human resources in the globe. 

He shared that "the century belongs to youthful brains and talented ambassadors like you." India's destiny and growth story will depend greatly on the next 25 years. In this technologically advanced century, students may make a big difference by encouraging business and building an Atma Nirbhar Bharat”.

IIM Kozhikode Director Debashis Chatterjee expressed gratitude on behalf of the community to the dignitaries and students' families. In his statement, he shared that, "IIM Kozhikode has a bifocal vision, dedicated to both short- and long-term goals”.

“We are delighted to say that, inspired by the IIMK's ideal of Satyam (Authenticity), Nityam (Sustainability), and Purnam (Fulfillment), our students are not only competent individuals but also compassionate human beings”, he further added.
