IIM Kozhikode Hosts 24th Convocation Ceremony, 962 Students Graduated


New Delhi: IIM Kozhikode celebrated its 24th convocation ceremony on the campus on April 09, 2022. A total of 962 students graduated from the esteemed institution.

The event was held in the presence of Governor of Kerela Arif Mohammed Khan, A. Vellayan, Chairperson of the IIM Kozhikode Board of Governors, IIM Kozhikode Director Debashis Chatterjee, members of the faculty and staff, graduating students, renowned public figures from the city and members from the media.

Among the newly graduates, the PhD in Management programme was completed by 11 of them. The flagship PGP programme was completed by 468 students. There were 343 students in the executive postgraduate management programme. The PGP in Business Leadership had 60 students, with 40 each for the PGP in Finance and the PGP in Liberal Studies and Management.

Gold medals were awarded to the topper of each programme of IIM Kozhikode. The gold medalists in various categories were Devesh Bansal, Pooja Goel, Shubham Sharma, Rakesh Pendyala, Ayushi Puri, Saksham Mehrotra, Kritika Vijay Kumar, and Aijaz Fatima.

Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, in his convocation speech, emphasised the importance of higher education institutions in preparation for the knowledge dissemination that an unpredictable future may need. 

“Institutions are marketplaces of ideas that train young minds through robust experience and prepare students for the journey ahead in pursuit of excellence, guided by reason and informed choice,” he stated.

Vellayan, Chairperson of the IIM Kozhikode Board of Governors, discussed the institution's substantial improvements and developments in recent years. 

IIM Kozhikode Director Debashis Chatterjee in his speech thanked the Central and State governments for their continuous cooperation in ensuring the institution's progress. While listing out the achievements and the laurels gained by the institute, he said that the university would continue to be a pioneer in gender diversity with significant woman representation.
