IIM Kozhikode Inks MoU with Indian Navy to Exchange Leadership and Management Practices


New Delhi: IIM Kozhikode inked an MoU with the Naval Institute of Educational and Training Technology (NIETT) on Wednesday, April 20. The agreement is made to build collaboration and exchange of best practices in the area of instructional leadership, educational psychology, and management.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director of IIM Kozhikode, and Commodore Ben H. Berson, Director of NIETT.

The Kochi campus of IIM Kozhikode will partner with the Navy's leading training institute to seek the advice of the finest in the business and higher education for improving the Navy's training procedures, achieving excellence, and increasing the defence participants' current learning skills.

It also gives NIETT faculty and selected Naval officers the chance to engage and get trained in suitable management programmes at IIM Kozhikode. The term of the MoU is initially for a three-year period, with the option to extend further.

Prof. Chatterjee stated that the MoU would result in an interchange of academic skills in the field of educational management, as well as research, teaching, and training, which would be extremely beneficial to the NIETT defence participants.

“Our defence forces, through their sheer determination and technical prowess, have spearheaded innovation and indigenisation to not only compete with the best of the world but also safeguard the interests of our businesses beyond our shores,“ he said.

Commodore Berson, speaking at the event, said the MoU will assist NIETT to extend its repertoire and mission to provide world-class training to trainers in India's armed services and friendly foreign nations.
