IIM Kozhikode, NITI Aayog to Focus on Overall Monitoring and Evaluation Environment in India; Read Details Here


New Delhi: IIM Kozhikode and Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office (DMEO) of NITI Aayog decided to jointly focus on the overall monitoring and evaluation environment in India.

As per the latest updates, IIM Kozhikode and NITI Aayog have signed the Statement of Intent (SoI). This institutional partnership will help develop a data monitoring and evaluation stack, to leverage the evaluation ecosystem across the country.

The collaboration will help IIMK and DMEO, NITI Aayog to work closely and exchange best practices in areas of monitoring and evaluation. Following this, they will upload all the necessary information on institutional websites. This will in return, aid towards efficient dissemination of study results to all the target audience and increase advocacy and awareness regarding this issue.

As part of the collaboration, both DMEO and IIM Kozhikode will host several workshops, forums, seminars and other activities. All these events will work towards building capacity, increasing advocacy in monitoring and evaluation in the country.

IIM K Director on Collaboration with NITI Aayog

Speaking on the occasion, IIM K Director, Debashis Chatterjee expressed his excitement as IIM Kozhikode collaborates with one of the foremost policy-making institutions of the country, NITI Aayog.

“Conducting joint research studies on India’s development challenges will bring forth the truth of prevailing status (Satyam); further evidence from such studies will assist in informed policy-making, fostering sustainable development (Nityam); eventually eminently becoming capable of delivering Purnam (wholeness) in our engagement with the research and capacity building endeavours of DMEO NITI,” he said.

Speaking about the collaboration, IIM-K Director asserted that as the society is adopting digitisation at such a fast pace, data is getting complex. In such cases, government bodies will be required to monitor and evaluate policies efficiently as per the situation.

"Partnership with IIMK is an endeavour to bring India’s premier knowledge institutions and apex monitoring and evaluation office to do collaborative research for larger public good and benefit of society,” he added. 

IIMK has issued an official statement that says, the Director-General of DMEO, SekharBonu and Debashis Chatterjee, Director, IIMK lead their respective teams during the signing event.
