IIM Kozhikode to Implement a Comprehensive Job Scheme Jointly With Kozhikode Corporation, Read Details Here


New Delhi: IIM Kozhikode has recently partnered with the Kozhikode Corporation to implement a comprehensive job scheme titled ‘We-Lift’.

As per the press release of IIM Kozhikode, through this collaboration, individuals who were earlier willing to work within the limits of the corporation would be given wage-based labour or would be helped to take up the self-help labour ventures.

IIM Kozhikode Collaboration to Create 5000 Jobs in 4 Years

“The target is to create at least 5,000 jobs in four years. Corporation Kudumbashree is the implementing agency. It will be linked to the National Urban Livelihoods Mission, Ayyankali job scheme, and activities of the Haritha Karma Sena consortium,” as the press release mentioned. 

At a workshop conducted recently before the launch of the initiative, as many as 89 fields of work or entrepreneurial areas were selected. A feasibility study will be conducted in these particular areas. Those with a potential success rate will be prioritised. 

IIM Kozhikode Admission 2022

The corporation will sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIM Kozhikode by February 28, 2022. According to the press release, for the time being, the terms of reference are being prepared. 

Earlier, IIM-K collaborated with NITI Aayog, the collaboration took place by inking a statement of interest focusing on strategic and technical collaboration to strengthen the monitoring and evaluation environment across the country. 

As part of the collaboration with Government think-tank NITI Aayog, IIM Kozhikode will develop a data monitoring and evaluation stack, to boost the evaluation ecosystem in India. Therefore, both DMEO and IIM Kozhikode will organise workshops, forums, seminars and other activities to build capacity and increase advocacy in monitoring and evaluation.

The SOI was signed by Professor Debashis Chatterjee, Director at IIM-K and Dr. Sekhar Bonu, Director General, DMEO.
