IIM Udaipur Inaugurates 4th

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Udaipur has officially launched the fourth batch of its one–year full-time MBA in Digital Enterprise Management (DEM) programme and the eleventh batch of its one–year MBA in Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM) for the academic session 2023-24.

In comparison to previous batches, the IIM Udaipur has increased the number of seats for both programmes for the upcoming academic year by 20%.

Mr. Pratik Pal, Chief Executive Officer, Tata Digital, honoured the ceremony as the chief guest for the inauguration, while prominent dignitaries like Prof. Ashok Banerjee, Director IIM Udaipur, and Prof. Rajesh Agrawal, Chairperson of One-year MBA Program Committee presided over the inaugural ceremony.

A total of 116 students signed up for the one-year MBA programmes, wherein 18% of these students are females. There are 55 students enrolled in the one-year MBA programme in global supply chain management (MBA GSCM), and 61 in the one-year MBA programme in digital enterprise management ( MBA DEM).

The batch of 2023–24 for the one-year MBA programme is varied, with experience from a range of industry backgrounds. The students who are joining the programme have worked in a variety of fields in the past, including agriculture, automobiles, banking and finance, consulting and IT services, consumer durables, e-commerce, Edtech, and many more.

Further, the students can benefit from one another's ideas and expertise as a result of the wide range of industrial backgrounds represented in the programme.

Speaking about the programmes during the inaugural function, IIM Udaipur Director Professor Ashok Banerjee said that the programme is not simply a degree but a transformational experience.Students will develop specific traits by the end of the year that will alter their way of living.

Several important elements, including contextualization, communication, networking opportunities, classroom learning, and time management, will shape the path towards the transformation.

Pratik Pal, Chief Executive Officer of Tata Digital addressed the new batch stating that in today's business world, digital transformation is crucial not just to survive, but to prosper as well.

People can adopt the digital world to become more efficient and customer-focused. Industries and startups that have embraced digital transformation are sustaining their existence.

By establishing e-commerce and online shopping platforms, businesses like Amazon have interfered with the operations of players like Best Buy. Such disruptions will occur in other industries as well as the financial sector in the future, Pratik Pal said.
