IIM-K Introduces 4-month Programme to Boost Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning


New Delhi: Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode’s business incubator and entrepreneurship development centre, the Laboratory for Innovation, Venturing and Entrepreneurship (LIVE) has launched LIVE X, a programme to nurture the new-age companies.

IIM-K launches the LIVE X programme which is an Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning Themed accelerator programme. It is a four-month programme. Professional services firm Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India will be the ‘knowledge partner’ and Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) will be the ‘funding partner’ of this unique programme. 

On Tuesday, a press release said that the Department of Science and Technology under the Ministry of Science and Technology would also sponsor the course. The aim of the programme is to support start-ups in boosting their innovative trajectory and helping them to obtain scale-up funds, market access, and investor connections. 

IIM-K Director Debashis Chatterjee said start-ups had become the front runners of the digital transformation wave in the country, and they had been fuelling AI and ML advancements by introducing cutting-edge solutions to critical issues.

Even, Rajesh Upadhyayula, IIMK LIVE Executive Director said the programme would help enhance human imagination so as to build scalable and successful AI and ML-led business models across various business domains.

Prashanth Kaddi, Deloitte India partner, has said AI and ML were increasingly proving to be a key differentiator for successful businesses and a source of sustainable competitive advantage while MRPL Director (Refinery) Sanjay Varma said ‘Atmanirbharta’ in emerging technologies was the key mantra for Indian economic development.

Start-ups with early traction in terms of customers and revenue will be given preference for the programme. 

In other news, IIM-K admission process has been concluded for MBA program for the academic year 2022-2023.
