New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Oil India Limited to conduct joint research in the fields of engineering, basic sciences, and earth sciences.
As per IIT Bhubaneshwar, the joint research will be done in the upstream, midstream, and downstream segments of the oil and natural gas value chain, which include hydrocarbon exploration, development, production, reservoir management, pipeline transportation, refining, and process technologies.
On this occasion, Prof. VK Tewari, Director of IIT Bhubaneswar, emphasised the importance of doing research on the specialised fields of collaborative work. He also referred to the National Educational Policy's spirit.
In addition to this, IIT Bhubaneswar is preparing to start the winter internship programmes for interested students in the month of December 2022. The program will begin at the institute on December 03 and run through December 31, 2022. It will last a minimum of three weeks and a maximum of four weeks.
The internship offers will be provided by the School of Basic Sciences, Earth, Ocean and Climate Sciences, Electrical Sciences, Infrastructure, Mechanical Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences and Management, and Minerals, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering among others.
During the internship program, registered students will have access to the institute's academic resources, including its laboratories. The student is responsible for covering the expenditures for food and access to other amenities.
After the internship has ended, students are required to present a report of the work done during the internship program. The institute will give students a "Training Completion Certificate," but it won't give grades for the job the interns did during the programme.
